Welcome to StepGate. By downloading and using this app, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing and using StepGate, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

StepGate is a mobile application that helps you manage screen time by linking app access to daily step goals. The app uses Apple HealthKit to read step count data and the Screen Time API to manage app restrictions.

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use StepGate for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control.

4. App Provided "AS IS"

StepGate is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Accuracy of step count data
• Compatibility with all devices

5. Subscription Terms

StepGate offers optional premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions:

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
• No refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the app in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the app
• Not use the app in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it
• Grant necessary permissions (HealthKit, Screen Time) for the app to function properly

7. Health Disclaimer

StepGate is not a medical device and should not be used for medical purposes. The app relies on data from Apple HealthKit, which may not always be accurate. Consult a healthcare professional before starting any fitness program.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer (Jules/slicycode) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the app
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code transmitted to or through the app
• Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of the use of any content

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the app or violation of these terms.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to StepGate at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including breach of these terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of France.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated terms. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Apple Terms

StepGate is available through the Apple App Store and is subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). In the event of conflict between these terms and Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA shall prevail.

15. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
